There are many strange laws in the USA.
Most of the time, these are state laws, not the laws for the entire country.
Usually these laws are old, and not very important today.

In New Hampshire, it is actually illegal to take seaweed from the beach.
At least, it was illegal, until 2016, when the government changed the law.

In Maine, it's illegal to put advertisements on gravestones.
You're probably thinking, why would someone do this?
Well, in 1999, a video game company in the UK tried to purchase space on gravestones to advertise for their new video game.
That caused a lot of people to be upset in the UK.
But, it cannot happen in Maine.
In Oklahoma, it is illegal to wrestle a bear.
You might think, why would anyone want to wrestle a bear?
Really, I don't know....
... because there are many laws about bears in Oklahoma.
So, if you go to Oklahoma, stay away from any bears.
In Washington, it is illegal to kill Bigfoot.
Do you know what Bigfoot is?
It is an imaginary animal in the USA.
It isn't even real....
But, there is a law protecting it if anyone finds one...

Finally, in South Carolina, it is illegal to work or dance on Sunday.
Does that seem crazy?
If you work in a restaurant or a supermarket, that is ok.
However, it is illegal for most people to work on Sunday.
Still, know one is actually arrested for breaking this law.
Right now, they are trying to change the law, to make illegal for a company to FORCE its employees to work on Sunday.
